The Wiseman’s Bridge Inn is a fair way from Haroldston but would be a good place to visit if you are already ‘down south’. We have eaten here 2 or 3 times & found the food to be reasonable at a ‘middling’ price. The real main attraction is the location, right at the back of the beach; very pretty and atmospheric. They have loads of external seating, arranged on terraces, ideal for an al fresco lunch on a warm sunny day. We would imagine that it gets fairly ‘thronged’ in the main season?
Directions; The pub is located on the coast road between Saundersfoot and Amroth. If you are going directly from Haroldston it is quickest & cheapest if you avoid the toll bridge. Turn left out of the end of the drive. Go to the end of St Issells Avenue and turn right at the Tee junction. Continue under the railway bridge, to the traffic island (Macdonalds is on your left). Turn right at the island (4th exit) into Freemens Way. At the end of Freemens Way, turn right at the island towards St Clears. Follow the A40 for about 8 miles to Canaston Bridge. Turn right at the island onto the A4075 towards Tenby & Oakwood. In about 3 miles, at a right hand bend, bear left onto the B4586. Turn left when you reach the A477 and drive a couple of miles to the roundabout at Begelly. Turn right onto the A478 towards Tenby. In about a mile turn left onto the B4316. Look out for a small country lane on the left signposted towards Wiseman’s Bridge. This lane merges into the coast road – just continue in the same general direction until you reach the pub.
