Haroldston Farmhouse; Review of The Sloop Inn,
Porth Gain; 01348 831449

Picture of the SloopPorth Gain is well worth a visit anyway, with its history, pretty harbour and art galleries.   The Sloop is a ‘proper’ seaside pub with lots of marine memorabilia.  The menu is full and the food is good.  The terrace is both sunny and sheltered and is ideal for an outdoor lunch, sometimes surprisingly early or late in the season.

The Moss Family;  16th February 2008.  “We had a lovely lunch at the Sloop Inn.”

Directions; Turn left out of the end of the drive.   Go to the end of St Issells Avenue and turn right at the Tee junction.   Continue under the railway bridge, to the traffic island (Macdonalds is on your left).   Turn right at the island (4th exit) into Freemans Way.   At the end of Freemans Way, continue straight on at the traffic island and lights, turning left at the next island towards the A487 and St Davids.   At the next island (Blands the Vauxhall dealer is opposite) take the 5th exit onto the B4330 towards Croes Goch.   Follow this road for approx 14 miles until you reach Croes Goch and the tee junction with the A487.  Turn left and immediately right, before the Atramont Arms.  Follow this lane to Porth Gain.
