Haroldston Farmhouse; Review of The Ferry House Inn,
Hazel Beach; 01646 60270

This pub has an excellent riverside location, opposite to Pembroke Dock.   The outside seating is quite limited, amounting to half a dozen picnic style bench/tables on a small terrace; very pleasant if there is space.   The terrace is sunny at lunch time but in the shade by the evening. The accommodation consists of a bar, a lounge/conservatory (with views of the river) and a large restaurant/function room. They tend to have a set menu, with a daily ‘specials’ menu. The locally caught fish is recommended when available.   Prices are competitive and food & service is good. Owners and staff are friendly and welcoming.  Even though it’s in a nice place, it’s a bit ‘off the beaten track’ so is usually doesn’t get too busy. Consequently, we eat here a lot.

Directions; Turn left out of the end of the drive.   Go to the end of St Issells Avenue and turn right at the Tee junction.   Continue under the railway bridge, to the traffic island (Macdonalds is on your left).   Take the first exit onto the A4076 towards Milford Haven.   After passing through the village of Johnston, turn left onto the A477 towards Pembroke Dock.   At the next island, go straight on towards Waterston (2nd exit) and then turn right at the tee junction. When you arrive in Waterston, take the first turn left.   This road becomes a country lane.  The Ferry is on the right as you reach the waterfront.
