Haroldston Farmhouse; Review of The Castle,
Little Haven; 01437 781445

The Castle is situated directly behind the beach in Little Haven.   It has a nice ‘buzzy’ atmosphere and is consequently very popular.   The food has always been of good quality at a reasonably price.  However, the pub changed hands in 2009 and whilst we believe that the new landlord is maintaining standards, we have no direct experience as yet.    Any feedback would be appreciated.  The new owners still operate an extensive ‘specials’ board with lots of fresh local fish in the season.   Most food is served in the bar but there is a small restaurant where you are able to book.   For the computer enthusiast, the pub operates a free WiFi zone.  The Castle tends to be very busy in the summer.

Directions;  Turn left out of the end of the drive.   Go to the end of St Issells Avenue and turn right at the Tee junction.   Continue under the railway bridge, to the traffic island (Macdonalds is on your left).   Go straight on at the island (3rd exit) up Merlins hill.   Turn left at the next island, into Scarrowscant Lane.   In 400 yards, turn left again opposite to the second hand car dealers (still Scarrowscant Lane)   Continue to the cross roads with B4327.   Continue straight on until you reach the tee junction with the B3431.   Turn left and follow the signs to Little Haven.   The Castle is on the right in the centre of the village, just before the narrow bridge.
